how to find (and love) yourself

Ever heard of the phrase "You must love yourself first, before you love someone else"? All the while I thought it wasn't true. I kept giving love to other people - friends, family - without giving the same amount of love for myself and I was fine. Well, I thought I was fine.

on a blue day

I'm attached to the color blue. Honestly, I don't necessarily know why. Whenever I see the light shade of the sky on a sunny day or the dark shade of a blueberry, I am immediately in awe. Recently I discovered I own too much clothes of the color; I didn't do it intentionally. Why do I cling on to blue so much? I realize now that it might be because it's the way I feel on various occassions.

I feel blue. I always feel the darkest, deepest hue of blue. This is one of those days.

the album that saved my life

Discovering new music is always a great feeling. We listen to music for our own leisure, because it makes us happy or even makes us feel like we're not alone. I'd like to put it that way. Song lyrics can sometimes be the words we're afraid to say. When we listen to a song that we can relate to, the effect it does to us is indescribable. It's like finding an old best friend.

That's what I felt like when I listened to Divide by Ed Sheeran.

what i've been up to lately

A month. I've been away from the blogging world for over a month. I haven't posted anything or even read a blog post from those who I follow. But I have my reasons and they're plenty valid.

Photo Dump: Sunday Stroll

The sun was shining bright. The breeze wasn't cold and it wasn't warm either. Days like these are the perfect days to take a walk around. So before I headed off to mass, I took a stroll and snapped a few pictures of the things around me.

New Year, New Look (For The Blog!)

Happy Chinese New Year! Let's visit Binondo and have some tikoy! I don't normally celebrare Chines New Year but this is an exciting day. For me, anyway. (Cool that rhymed)

This is a particularly, sort of, well timed day because As Told By Juls got a makeover! I've been dying to change my theme and I've seen so many good ones on Etsy. Thanks to my Tita, I got this Audra template by Design by Fearne. This new look and new year marks a new start for the blog. If you've been here for a while, thank you for staying with me.

If you're new, hi! I'm Julia and this is As Told By Juls - a blog curated by me, a blogger and business major who lives on coffee and pasta. It's a place where I write about my life, my passions, and whatever comes to my mind. A space of my own on the internet; who knows what I could be up to here. *cheeky wink*

Here's to a coffee-filled and productive year ahead!

The Lost Business Student

I don't know how I got here. Fate? Destiny? Or is it life playing games with me like it always does? As a kid, I wanted to be so many things when I grow up. I wanted to be a doctor, a fashion designer, a model. It took a while for me to decide that I want to take the writer path. May it be a freelance writer or a novel author - all I knew is that I wanted to write. It's what I loved doing.

But why did I end up taking a Business course?
